Give away win :)

I was excited to receive this darling basket in the mail today courtesy of Tolen Family Fun. Thank you Mandi!!!

Organizing our family

As one of my New Year Resolutions I decided I was going to get our family all on the same page, to take the guess work out of what was going to be done each day. Who is going where and when, what there is to eat or where so and so's number is.

Thanks to How Does She 's post about organizing your home in one binder, I knew I had found an easy way {for me at least} to accomplish just that.

After reading her post I started looking at the links she had posted and customizing my folder to fit my families needs and this is what I came up with: I used the four dividers she did, Calendar, Contacts, Cleaning and Cooking.

1st section:

I printed out each month from February to December from Organized Home and placed brads in each ring to keep the holes from ripping because I know I would rip them otherwise.
Next, I added a daily to do list which you can find here along with any other pages you need to add to your binder.
I also added a sheet that has a list of standing weekly appointments and conference calls for my husband.

2nd:

This section has all emergency contact numbers, our ward list, my children's Pediatrician booklet with address, numbers and each of the DR's. in the office bio's, our Christmas card mailing list and a Christmas gift list I pulled out of a Real Simple Mag I had from a few years back. and a list of all our favorite restaurants and their number.
The printable address pages you can find here

3rd section:
This section is a work in progress. I have my daily, weekly and monthly to-do lists and as I get my routines down I will "Zone" my house {courtesy of FlyLady} and will have all those lists in there as well.

4th Section:
In this section I will have my grocery shopping lists and all my coupons. I was going to add our menu's here as well. But, found a better way for me, which I don't have quite finished yet and will post about it when I get it in the next few weeks. It's AWESOME and I am EXCITED to get it!!!

Again here is a list of all the sites and links I used to put my fun, fab, easy peezy to navigate family folder.

Special thanks to How Does She for being the inspiration behind this. It has already made my life so much easier and I have only had it finished for two days :)

My husband and I are starting P90X and I am putting little folders together for each which I will post about later.

My mom gave me this mirror for my birthday last year. I love how big it is and the color was working for a while but this beauty was screaming for a makeover.
I taped off the edges.
applied the first coat of Giddion "onyx black" my hubby got me for Christmas.
I let that dry for a few hours and applied the second coat.
Taaadaaa...here she is all finished painting. My hubby is picking up the right screws to had her up on the wall in the dinning room. I can't wait!!!

I won a giveaway!!!!

The Girl Creative hosted a giveaway from Happy Baby Designs about a week ago...and I won!! I was excited to meet the master mind, Rebecca behind the darling baby items, custom birthday shirts, burp clothes and binkie bags, ect.

You should head over to her etsy shop and find something cute for your little one. She doesn't disappoint!

I was so excited to receive mine in the mail on Friday!
Isn't that the cutest star burst fabric!?! I hung it on the side of my little girls crib to keep all her binkies in one spot without having to worry about my sweet older children or dogs getting to them.
The burp cloth is nice and big so I don't have to worry about getting any spit up on my shoulder or arm :)
Thanks Rebecca!

1. Do you use an alarm clock or some device to wake you up, or do you wake up on your own?
My children are my alarm clock! Unless I have an appointment or my son has school. In which case I use the alarm on my phoneIt seems that when ever I need them to wake up at the time they usually do, they sleep in.

2. If you could go on any game show, which won would you choose?
I would have to choose...The Price is Right! I have wanted to appear on that show since I was a little girl watching it with my Grandma. haha

3. Do you prefer the weather to be hot or cold?
HOT!!! any day of the week! I was born in SoCal and raised in Gilbert, AZ. Funny since I live in Idaho! :)

4.What color of clothing do you wear the most?
Pink! love, love, love you:)

5. What is your favorite color?
Pink, which would explain why I wear it so much.

glass candle sticks and vases...

I used the three candlesticks, tall glass vase, pink flower, tan flat candle holder and fleur de lis.

1. I used rust-oleum in oil rubbed bronze to spray paint the flat candle holder and the fleur de lis.
2. As those were drying I Gorilla Glued the candlesticks to the pink flower and glass candle holder and the pink glass knob to the bottom of one of the tall glass vases.
3. One the flat candle holder was dried I Gorilla glued it to the third glass candle stick.
4. Once all of the pieces were dried I placed the fleur de lis on the flat candle holder and placed the glass vase over the top of that.
AND....
These look darling in my daughter's room. The pink flower holds her bracelets and I'm not sure what I am going to put in the empty one...maybe some mini decorated balls.

onsie dress

 Materials:
1. onsie-- any size
2. fabric--desired length full width
I used my sewing machine to make a ruffle at the top. I didn't hem it because I am going for a worn look.
next I sewed the polka dot fabric to the onsie starting under one side of the armpit going all the way around.
Now turn the fabric inside out and sew the two sides together.
last hem the bottom to desired length and...

Your FINISHED! Super easy darling custom onsie dress. Now to make a matching fabric flower.

menu's for everyone

One of my goals for this year is to eat healthier as a family. Last year I did a lot of modifying. But, this year is the full make over. I will loose all the baby weight my three little darlings so graciously left me after each pregnancy. I found these two menu's out of the Parents magazine I receive every month. They were clipped from two separate months this last year. I cut each down and placed on card stock then on patterned paper. The kids' menu I placed on the fridge and mine on the memo board by the food cupboard.

Curtain make over

Before
Plain ole' tab curtains from Target.
After
Ah, yes, much better!
Next I want to add a ruffle across the meeting of the two fabrics.
But, oh so much better for now.
